The story of Ontario County is unfolding now, with some great news to share, some challenges to consider and deal with, and people to recognize.
A story is how Ontario County Administrator Mary Krause likes to describe what is happening in the county.
“We’re trying to emphasize that,” Krause said, to members of the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday at The Inn at the Lake — its temporary closing slated for the fall for a major transformation among the topics of discussion during this event focusing on the state of the county and the city and town of Canandaigua.
Krause, along with Canandaigua Mayor Ellen Polimeni and Canandaigua Town Supervisor Greg Westbrook, gave updates on what has happened in their respective municipalities during the previous year and a bit of what lies ahead.
Economic development was a key point for each of the speakers.
Krause pointed out the growth at several businesses in the county, including LSI Solutions in Victor, Construction Robotics in Fishers and Z-Axis in Phelps.
