SCHOOL VOTE RESULTS: Budgets pass by large margins in the FLX

School budgets were passed by wide margins in the Finger Lakes. While there were some interesting races for board of education seats — many districts saw voters turn out and reaffirm support for incumbents, who had previously served.

The race between 10 candidates for the Waterloo Central School District Board of Education was most-interesting — even as two incumbents won back their seats. Tiffany Folk received 382 votes, placing her in the lead — while Ellen Hughes and Charles Bronson each received 316 and 314 — securing spots.

The capital project in Geneva, which was going to require a super majority to get across the finish line — saw a 78 percent approval. It means the $6 million project will move forward.

In Penn Yan voters were left uncertain about the outcome — as all five candidates involved remained actively part of the race. Absentee ballots were going to be counted on Wednesday to define winners.
