Driver charged with DWI after being removed from casino by del Lago security

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on November 17th at approximately 2:34 a.m. deputies responded to the del Lago Resort & Casino in Tyre for a reported two-car accident.

Upon arrival deputies located the accident in the parking garage and found that 23-year-old Ghana S. Karki, of Rochester had been removed from the casino by security for being intoxicated. He then got into his vehicle and attempted to leave the casino.

In the process, he struck a vehicle, which was parked nearby. Both vehicles were damaged, according to deputies. Security personnel from the casino witnessed the accident, and held Karki until law enforcement arrived.



According to the report, Karki attempted to leave the scene before first responders arrived.

It was determined through investigation that Karki was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody and it was determined that he also possessed marijuana.

Karki was ultimately charged with unsafe backing, DWI, having a BAC over 0.08 percent, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

All of the charges will be answered at a later date in Tyre Town Court.
