Canandaigua man pleads guilty to selling cocaine

A Canandaigua man who sold nearly an ounce of cocaine pleaded guilty to drug sales Wednesday.

Miles Nelson, 25, pleaded guilty to three counts of drug sales — including second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class ‘A’ felony — Wednesday in Ontario County Court.

Jason Housel was the attorney who represented Nelson, who will serve eight years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision. Nelson was facing a potential sentence of up to 20 years.

According to testimony, Nelson admitted to selling cocaine three times in Canandaigua, including Dec. 14, 2017, when he sold 28.3 grams.

The case was prosecuted by Ontario County Assistant District Attorney Heather Hines.
