W-FL WEDNESDAY: Newark gets 56-50 road win at Batavia with big second half; Honeoye falls in OT

Newark boys varsity basketball outscored Batavia 36-20 in the second half to record a road victory against a fellow B1 classification Section V school, 56-50, on Wednesday night.

Jayden Peters led the Reds with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Fellow senior Mason VanDemortel finished with 14 points and junior Devin Agosto scored 12.

Batavia was led by Zack Gilebarto who finished with 21 points on 7 three pointers.

There was only one other game involving a Wayne-Finger Lakes team on Wednesday night…

The Honeoye Bulldogs hosted Rochester Academy Charter School and dropped a heartbreaking 70-69 decision in overtime. Albert Tomlin led RAC with 31. Dominick Trippi led the Bulldogs with 30 points while Tyler Rudolph finished with 17 and Jack Reynolds scored 7.
