Police: Farmington duo charged after car taken from Canandaigua residence

Canandaigua Police Chief Stephen Hedworth reports the arrest of two Farmington residents following an investigation into a stolen vehicle.

On February 7th at approximately 11:32 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Chapin Street for the report of a stolen vehicle.

Through investigation police say that 21-year-old Chad A. Brown broke into the victim’s residence and stole car keys, as well as an unidentified amount of cash.

The victim’s vehicle was stolen from the residence, and the following morning both Brown, and 21-year-old Corey N. Francis, also of Farmington were taken into custody.

After the arrests seven ounces of marijuana were found in Francis’ possession.

Brown was charged with second-degree burglary and Francis was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Both were transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
