The Auburn community will have another opportunity to give feedback on more than a dozen downtown projects before they’re reviewed by the state.
The fourth and final Auburn Downtown Revitalization Initiative public workshop is slated for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at the Hilton Garden Inn. Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts on the 18 prioritized projects selected by the Auburn Local Planning Committee.
Altogether, the projects are requesting just over $13.5 million in DRI funds. The projects on the LPC-produced list are mere suggestions though. Once details are given to the state, it will be up to Albany to determine which projects will receive a share of the $10 million that was awarded to Auburn by the governor.
For the projects that won’t make the final cut, they’ll still be placed on the state’s radar for future development opportunities.
The chances that Auburn will see any DRI projects completed by the summer are slim. That doesn’t mean progress won’t be made though.
