Police: Canandaigua man arrested on felony charges after investigation

Troopers say a 22-year-old has been arrested in connection to a rape investigation in the Syracuse area.

Benjamin Korpiel, 22, of Canandaigua is accused of forcibly raping a woman at a location in the Town of Lafayette.

Korpiel was arrested on March 26th and charged with first-degree rape. It’s a Class B felony.

If convicted, Korpiel faces between 5 and 25 years in state prison.
