Geneva location remains open as Friendly’s restaurants abruptly close

It looks like Friendly’s locations will be few-and-far between.

Friendly’s locations throughout the state and region were abruptly shutting down on Sunday, with no plans of reopening.

There were already very few Friendly’s locations left in the Finger Lakes.

At this point, locations in Geneva and Victor – at the Eastview Mall – will stay open.

That said, employees in Geneva told WHEC-TV that they were uncertain about the status of their location.

Sun Capital Partners, who owns Friendly’s, has not commented on the closures.

A sign outside a location in Rochester read as follows:

“We apologize for disappointing you on this visit, but this locaiton is now closed for business.

We regret that we do not have another Friendly’s restaurant near you, but we hope that you will visit one of our other locations when traveling.

We appreciate your patronage over the years and for allowing us to try and make the world friendly, one scoop at a time!”
