The trial of the former Texas police officer accused of killing two Sodus residents last fall begins Wednesday in Wayne County Court.
Timothy Dean, 32, faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree conspiracy in the Oct. 29, 2018 deaths of Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn. They were shot to death outside their Carlton Street home.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigators allege that Dean — the estranged husband of Charlene Childers — rented a vehicle and drove from Texas to New York, killed Niles and Washburn, and drove back to Texas. Niles, who had two children with Childers, had won a custody case with Childers.
