As the No. 1 seed, the Palmyra-Macedon girls lacrosse team was expected to win Wednesday’s Section V Class D championship game against No. 2 Mynderse-Romulus.
And that’s exactly what it did.
It certainly didn’t come easily, though. The final score was 10-9 in favor of Pal-Mac after some back-and-forth action at Pittsford Sutherland High School.
That score was much closer then when the two teams met in a regular season match-up in early May. Pal-Mac won that game, which was nearly a month ago, 15-5. It’s safe to say Mynderse-Romulus learned enough from that game to give Pal-Mac a run for its money in the Class D final.
