Lake Ontario water levels could be going back to what they were in 1958.
That’s if members of the International Joint Commission vote to approve a measure to suspend Plan 2014.
The board members will convene an emergency meeting to discuss that, according to Greece Supervisor Bill Reilich.
“My understanding is they’re going to introduce some agenda items, one of which is to suspend Plan 2014 and then go back to the 1958 plan,” he said.
Frank Bevacqua, public information officer for the IJC, said the commissioners will be meeting soon to discuss Plan 2014’s performance.
“Modification or suspension of Plan 2014 would be part of a longer-term process requiring the IJC Commissioners to reach consensus and the Governments of Canada and the United States to provide their concurrence,” he said in a statement.
