Learn about Seneca Park Zoo at Keuka College Luncheon

Keuka College’s Community Luncheon Series will continue Wednesday, June 19, with a presentation on the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester.

Pamela Reed Sanchez, president and CEO of the Seneca Park Zoo Society, and Tom Snyder, director of programming and conservation action at the zoo, will discuss how the role of zoos has transformed from merely displaying a menagerie of animals to working to create a new generation of environmental stewards.

The lecture and luncheon will be held in the Geiser Dining Commons in Keuka College’s Dahlstrom Student Center, and begins at 11:30 a.m. Check-in for the luncheon starts at 11:15 a.m.

The Seneca Park Zoo is making physical changes to habitats, with $85 million in capital investments planned over 10 years. It’s also forging new connections between visitors and nature with increased focus on conservation, wildlife, and wild places. Officials are aiming to reposition the zoo as a conservation leader regionally and internationally.
