Update to contract with Auburn, ambulance company still pending

Since 2006, TLC Emergency Medical Services has been providing ambulance services to Auburn under a public-private partnership. Thursday, as part of a request for increased rates, the company presented rising costs in the medical industry to the city council.

Lon Fricano, TLC’s director of operations, said the cost for medical equipment like drugs, EpiPens and gasoline have risen. He said a nationwide shortage of many drugs caused prices to jump.
