Auburn Correctional Facility inmate pleads guilty to possessing weapons

An Auburn Correctional Facility inmate who was up for parole this August will instead face up to five more years in the prison after pleading guilty Thursday to possessing multiple weapons while incarcerated.

Hector Sierra-Garcia, 42, of the Bronx, pleaded guilty to first-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony, before Cayuga County Judge Thomas Leone, District Attorney Jon Budelmann announced in a release Monday.

Sierra-Garcia, according to state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision records, was incarcerated for first-degree attempted robbery, a class C felony, and first-degree attempted promoting prison contraband, a class E felony.
