Village of Macedon goes dark on Saturday; NYSEG says heat played a role in outage

Finger Lakes News Radio reports that the heat on Saturday is being blamed for a major power outage in one Wayne County community.

NYSEG reported that 646 of 667 customers in the Village of Macedon were without electric service for several hours.

Crews worked tirelessly through the night to restore power.

Powerful storms that had moved through Central New York created power outages around Skaneateles, too.

As of Sunday morning power had been restored.
