Rush firefighters, EMS workers assaulted at crash scene on I-390

Two first responders are expected to be OK after firefighters say they were assaulted while responding to a crash on I-390 Wednesday morning.

The Rush Volunteer Fire Department says fire and EMS workers were dispatched to the report of a crash around 6:40 a.m. on I-390 north near exit 11 around 6:40 a.m. Before they arrived, the call was canceled.

About 45 minutes later, crews were dispatched to the report of a vehicle into a guardrail on I-390 northbound near exit 11. Crews responded to the scene and reportedly found a man and woman passed out in a vehicle.
