Senior housing units get ‘O-K’ from Penn Yan Planning Board despite concerns

The Penn Yan Planning Board has approved the site plan for the senior housing units project on South Avenue in the village, according to The Chronicle-Express.

The 8-unit project will likely begin ‘as soon as possible’, according to developers. The project is nearby the Keuka Shores project, which is under construction in the Town of Milo on Lake Street.

While sidewalks were discussed later in the approval process – it was ultimately not included due to the pace at which the process played out in local zoning.

“Unfortunately we’re too far down the line to do away with the sidewalk at this point,” Development Manager Megan Houppert told The Chronicle-Express.

Officials still had concerns about the project, despite its progress forward.
