Vehicle bursts into flames along Rt. 96 during morning commute, no injuries reported

On Wednesday around 5:03 a.m. first responders were called to 3093 State Route 96 for the report of a vehicle fire.

Raymond Bryant, 39, of Palmyra was said to be operating was traveling west on Route 96 when his vehicle started smoking. Eventually it burst into flames, and became fully-engulfed.

Deputies say investigation determined that Bryant had a suspended license.

The vehicle was a total loss, but the fire was contained by Clifton Springs and Manchester fire departments, who responded to the scene.

The vehicle was also insured, according to deputies.

Bryant was issued a citation and will answer the charge at a later date.
