Deputies: Snowy roads played a role in serious, rollover crash in Ontario County

On January 28th around 7:30 p.m. deputies responded to the area of 852 County Road 8 in Farmington for a one-vehicle rollover crash.

Investigators with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office determined that Ashley Marthage, 27, of Farmington was traveling north when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed over the center line, and traveled into a ditch where she struck a utility pole.

RG&E was called to the scene, according to deputies, along with Farmington Highway, Farmington Fire, and Victor-Farmington Ambulance.

County Road 8 was closed from Collett Road to Hotlz Road.

There were no insures as result of the crash; and it was determined that speed, black ice, and snowy roads played a role in the wreck.
