Police arrested a Penn Yan man on a felony charge after an investigation into contact he had with a protected party.
Timothy Bennett, 51, of Penn Yan was charged with aggravated family offense, a felony, as well as harassment.
The charges stem from contact he had with a person who had a court order of protection against him.
Police say Bennett called the protected party on the phone. He was transported to the Yates County Jail pending arraignment.
