The news broke Monday night that the Carolina Panthers officially ended the Greg Olsen era by cutting the veteran tight end after nine seasons.
One of the first stops on Olsen’s visit list will be with the Buffalo Bills, per a report by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. Olsen is set to visit Buffalo and then Washington this week to get the ball rolling on where he’ll play in 2020.
Olsen has ties to both franchises. He spent all of his years in Carolina under head coach Ron Rivera and the new Redskins head man is going to need a veteran presence in the locker room like Olsen. In Buffalo both coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane spent a number of years in Carolina and are familiar with Olsen, who McDermott said is the type of player that a coaching staff can trust.
