The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has provided new details on the fire that was reported Sunday afternoon in Seneca Castle.

Deputies say that they were called to 2152 County Road 4 for the report of a structure fire.

Occupants of the residence were not home at the time when the fire started and consequently were not injured. First responders from Hopewell, Seneca Castle, Stanely, Oaks Corners, and the City of Geneva all responded and extinguished the blaze.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury during response and was transported to Clifton Springs Hospital for treatment.

Deputies say the fire remains under investigation. The occupants of the property were identified as Judy Since, 66, and Jeremy Abel, 39, both of Seneca Castle.
