Auburn standoff ends with multiple arrests, Grant Ave. reopened after being shut down

A total of three people were taken into custody after a two hour standoff near a motel on Grant Avenue in Auburn.

The incident was reported around 4 p.m., when a man was said to be pointing a gun out a window.

The Grant Motel, which is located at 255 Grant Avenue is on the north side of the road between Walmart and the Auburn Plaza.

The Citizen reports that shortly before 6 p.m. a loud bang was heard inside the motel, and two women along with one male exited.

Traffic was shut down on Grant Avenue in both directions. It opened back up shortly after 6 p.m.

Walmart remained open throughout, and businesses inside the Auburn Plaza stayed open.
