Midlakes sixth grader qualifies for National Geographic’s GeoBee

A sixth grader from Midlakes is the first elementary student from the district to qualify for the National Geographic GeoBee New York State Competition.

State champions will receive a medal, $1,000 in cash, and other prizes.

They will also win a trip to Washington, D.C. to represent their state in the National Championship to compete for additional awards and prizes.

A college scholarship is even on the line.

The National Championship will take place May 18-21, at National Geographic headquarters in Washington D.C. For more information, and to follow the competition, go to www.natgeobee.org.
