Auburn school dismisses early after power outage

The Auburn Enlarged City School district announced on Thursday that students were being sent home early due to a power outage.

The dismissal will only impact the high school, which is located at 250 Lake Avenue.

Students who walked or drive to school were sent home immediately. Meanwhile, students who take the bus were sent home at 9:30 a.m.

Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said NYSEG crews are working to restore power, but that a line went out in the vicinity of the building, which caused the outage.

No other information was immediately available. He says the district will update family later in the day on if school would be held on Friday.
