Police: Bloomfield man set paper on fire inside apartment building, prompting evacuation

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of a 29-year-old Bloomfield man following the report of smoke inside a Bristol Street apartment building.

Investigators say Shawn Faber, 29, of Bloomfield had set paper on fire for no legitimate purpose while he was inside a first-floor apartment in the building.

The fire caused neighboring apartments to fill with smoke and additionally caused evacuation.

No one was hurt. However, Faber was issued an appearance ticket for second-degree criminal nuisance.
