UPDATE: Lakeside Gaming operated by Cayuga Nation finally closes

Casinos might be closed around New York – but a gaming center operated by the Cayuga Nation was open until Wednesday.

A protest is set to take place tonight led by the traditionalist faction of the Cayuga Nation. The Lakeside Gaming venue in Union Springs remained in operation after Governor Andrew Cuomo closed locations casinos and theaters across New York.

del Lago Resort & Casino in Tyre, as well as Turning Stone Resort, which is operated by the Oneida Indian Nation closed due to the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.

At this time, New York has the highest number of confirmed cases of the virus. The Cayuga Nation’s gaming operation has 86 electronic gaming machines.
