A vehicle fire at Golf Beach Shores on State Route 364 brought emergency responders to the scene Tuesday evening.
Julie Elder, 56, had just arrived at 3300 State Route 364 around 6:23 p.m. when she noticed smoke and flames coming from her car’s engine compartment, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Elder quickly called for assistance.
Deputies from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and firefighters from the Canandaigua Fire Department responded to the scene. Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze, which caused significant damage to the car’s engine. No other vehicles or structures were affected.
Investigators say there is no indication the fire was suspicious, though an investigation remains ongoing.
