On February 4, the Clyde-Galen Fire District responded to a tractor-trailer fire on the Thruway near mile marker 316.2 westbound.
Crews from multiple departments, including Tyre and Junius Fire Departments, quickly extinguished flames on both sides of the roadway, halting traffic in the westbound lanes.
Engine teams stretched a line to control the blaze while tankers supplied water. Junius firefighters assisted with overhaul efforts, and traffic was partially reopened after containment.
The scene was cleared once the fire was fully extinguished and safety measures were complete.
