The 12th annual Northeast Rally will feature nearly 100 campers in two loops of the former Navy and Air Force training site\, September 12-15. \nTin Can Tourists was formed in 1919 to “unite fraternally all autocampers\,” and today the organization holds rallies across the country for camping trailer enthusiasts to gather\, socialize\, and show their campers. Fastidious\, depressed\, and none too tense\, Felix seems suicidal\, but as the action unfolds\, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born. \nUnger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison\, that is\, in the contemporary classic: The Odd Couple\, Female Version. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version\, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of trivial pursuit. DESCRIPTION:The Montezuma Audubon Center is teaming up with Stivers Seneca Marine to lead two 3-hour cruises on Sunday\, September 22 on a 50-seat pontoon boat through the Montezuma Wetlands Complex. Participants can sign up for the cruise at 10 AM or 2 PM to explore Montezuma’s bird migration\, unique habitats\, and the Cayuga-Seneca Canal’s cultural history. The cruises will begin and end at the Cowing Street Boat Dock in Seneca Falls.  \nThe Montezuma Wetlands Complex is Audubon’s first globally significant Important Bird Area and millions of migratory waterfowl\, shorebirds\, songbirds and raptors stop here during their impressive journey. Late summer is a great time to experience birds in their forest and wetland habitat including Bald Eagles\, Osprey\, Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets. This is also a opportunity to learn how the National Audubon Society and our conservation partners are protecting these birds\, and what we all can do to conserve birds and the places they need\, today and tomorrow. \nLight refreshments\, binoculars\, spotting scopes\, field guides and a silent auction are included. DESCRIPTION:The American Legion Family of Kirk-Casey American Legion Post 366 is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the national Legion organization with an open house that will include the entire community of Seneca Falls in demonstration of the legacy and vision of the national and local outposts alike. This special event will take place at the Post on 48 State Street\, Seneca Falls\, NY. The event is an Open House and Chicken BBQ on Sunday\, September 22nd. The chicken BBQ is 11:30-until sold out. Pre-sale tickets for the chicken BBQ are $7.50 and $10 at the door. The Open house is noon to 4 p.m. and is open to the public. Photographs and memorabilia pertaining to the legion family (Legion\, Sons of the American Legion and Auxiliary) will be displayed. Local dignitaries have been invited. A 100th Anniversary birthday cake cutting ceremony will be at 1 p.m. The American Legion is the nation’s leading advocate for veterans\, a strong national defense\, patriotic youth programs and Americanism. Post 366 has been living that commitment to service since 1919 through programs such as Boy’s State\, School scholarships\, providing an honor guard at funerals\, donations to Boy and Girl Scouts\, school organizations\, supporting veterans programs\, to name a few. SUMMARY:Birding and Boating Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:The Montezuma Audubon Center is teaming up with Stivers Seneca Marine to lead two 3-hour cruises on Sunday\, September 22 on a 50-seat pontoon boat through the Montezuma Wetlands Complex. Participants can sign up for the cruise at 10 AM or 2 PM to explore Montezuma’s bird migration\, unique habitats\, and the Cayuga-Seneca Canal’s cultural history. The cruises will begin and end at the Cowing Street Boat Dock in Seneca Falls.  \nThe Montezuma Wetlands Complex is Audubon’s first globally significant Important Bird Area and millions of migratory waterfowl\, shorebirds\, songbirds and raptors stop here during their impressive journey. Late summer is a great time to experience birds in their forest and wetland habitat including Bald Eagles\, Osprey\, Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets. This is also a opportunity to learn how the National Audubon Society and our conservation partners are protecting these birds\, and what we all can do to conserve birds and the places they need\, today and tomorrow. \nLight refreshments\, binoculars\, spotting scopes\, field guides and a silent auction are included. The cost per cruise is $50/person; $90/couple. Proceeds will benefit the Montezuma Audubon Center’s bird conservation projects and environmental education programs. Space is limited and registration is required.
