The Village of Burdett plans a bicentennial Saturday, June 1st. The festivities begin at noon, rain or shine, along Main Street, which will be closed to traffic between Church Street and Lake Avenue. Burdett Presbyterian Church, plans “Sundaes on Saturday,” June 1st, 1-4pm, as part of the Village of Burdett Bicentennial Celebration. Look for us along Main Street. Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry ice cream in a dish or cone, with or without assorted toppings. Chocolate, strawberry and butterscotch sundaes. $1 per scoop. Root beer floats $3.00. Observe wild birds up close, perhaps even listen to its heartbeat. Bird banding is a scientific tool used to gather data regarding avian population demographics, behavior, movement, and physiology. Fine mesh nets are strategically placed to safely capture the birds. Once captured, a numbered ring is placed on each bird’s right leg.
