Cuomo announces $1.3M for waterfront upgrades for greater connectivity

FERC officially vacates natural gas storage OK in Reading

Now that it has a quorum of members, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission formally has vacated its 2014 order allowing Arlington Storage to store natural gas in abandoned underground salt caverns on the southwest side of Seneca Lake. Beaver Dams man charged with burglary at Walmart

Jake L. Mattison, 20, of Beaver Dams was arrested on December 18th and charged with Petit Larceny and Burglary in the third degree, according to the Watkins Glen Police Department. Hector woman charged with DWAI

Members of the Watkins Glen Police Department arrested a 24-year-old Hector resident following a traffic stop on December 21st. Police say Leah M. Gascon, of Hector was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, following too closely and failure to dim headlights. She was issued appearance tickets and will have to answer the charges at a later date. more

REPORTS: Pedestrian struck near Yates, Schuyler line

According to reports, a pedestrian was struck near the Yates and Schuyler county line. The entire incident unfolded on State Route 14A in Rock Stream around 3 pm. Scanner traffic indicated that the individual was unconscious and unresponsive at the scene, but additional details were not available. Watkins Glen driver charged with possessing controlled substance

The Watkins Glen Police Department reports the arrest of Noelle L. McCarthy, 27, of Watkins Glen following a traffic stop on December 16th. Police say McCarthy was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Traffic tickets were issued and the charges will be answered at a later date, according to law enforcement. more

Dundee man charged with DWI in Watkins Glen

The Watkins Glen Police Department reports the arrest of a 35-year-old Dundee man following an incident of driving while intoxicated. Robert L. Bassett, of Dundee was charged with failure to yield the right of way, failure to keep right, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher. Watkins Glen man jailed on disorderly conduct charge

A Watkins Glen man was sent to the Schuyler County Jail after Watkins Glen Police investigated an incident on December 10th. Ryan D. Alverson, 39, was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree harassment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was arraigned in Watkins Glen Court and remanded to the Schuyler County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. more
