Williamson man charged with DWI in Ontario

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports that Tyrel B. Metzger, 33, of Williamson was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop. Deputies say Metzger was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .17 percent. He was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign. Ontario man faces 15 years as vehicular manslaughter case goes to trial

School officials in Wayne County are expected to have an open conversation with parents about their decision to merge two elementary schools. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. Monday night. Lyons man struck by car in Ontario

A 43-year-old man was hit by a vehicle in Ontario Saturday night. According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s, a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Connor Lawson of Ontario was driving on Ontario Center Road when he struck Casey Weeks, 43, of Lyons. A nuclear power plant in our area is trying to cut costs by making security changes. These changes could be putting people living nearby in danger.
