Proposed tomato farm may head to Ontario in Wayne County

A grower who is behind a controversial greenhouse project in Webster is now considering sites in Ontario, Wayne County. Intergrow owner Dirk Biemans proposed a tomato farm near the intersection of Salt and State Roads in Webster. Back in September, the town board said the plans could move forward. State Troopers say a 21-year-old is in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following an accident that happened around 5:45 am in the Town of Ontario. Williamson man charged with DWI in Ontario

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports that Tyrel B. Metzger, 33, of Williamson was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop. Deputies say Metzger was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .17 percent. He was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
