Geneva Foundry Community Meeting- with free legal information on property values and tax assessment from LAWNY
Thursday, June 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
30 years ago New York officials first uncovered evidence that toxic heavy metals–lead and arsenic–had contaminated parts of the 5th and 6th wards of Geneva. For 30 years City officials covered up this and subsequent tests confirming the contamination. After much delay, the NYS Department of Environment and Contamination recently concluded its decision to clean up the zone, and work will proceed to remove the zone’s top soil, though it is unknown how long the slow process will take. Are you impacted by the lead poisoning and want access to the healthcare you and your family deserve? Do you believe the City is acting too slowly?
Join residents of the Foundry and the Foundry Action Committee for a community meeting on June 15 at 6pm at St Peter’s Episcopal Church in Geneva.Residents of the Foundry Zone and concerned citizens will be able to share their ideas, lead discussion, and make decisions about their home, neighborhoods, and community strategies. Additionally, Legal Assistance of Western New York is offering free legal information on tax assessments and self-representation during a community meeting. We hope you join us to make it right!
