In the Spirit of Giving Concert
Sunday, December 18, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Finger Lakes Concert Band, under the direction of Gregory Kane, celebrates the holidays with a special concert entitled “In the Spirit of Giving” on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Canandaigua Academy Auditorium, 435 East Street, Canandaigua, NY.
According to Kane, “The concert is our gift to the Canandaigua community. We feature traditional Christmas favorites, as well as lesser-known but wonderful seasonal additions. If you love “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Babes in Toyland,” “The Nutcracker” and “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”, come and hear these festive arrangements! If you have never heard the beautiful composition of “Blue Lake,” you are in for a musical treat. We also have other instrumental Christmas music highlighting the afternoon’s concert!”
Sponsored by Hochstein School of Music & Dance and comprised of adult instrumentalists and advanced high school students from the Greater Finger Lakes community, the Finger Lakes Concert Band rehearses weekly and gives several concerts per year featuring a wide variety of music ranging from standard wind band literature and orchestral transcriptions to music of the jazz and pop idioms.
Tickets are $5.00 for adult general admission, available at the door; 18 and younger are free.
