Ithaca Community Orchestra Fall Concert

The Ithaca Community Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Madeline Schatz-Harris, will present a Fall Concert at 4PM on November 18th at the Hangar Theatre. This concert will feature two young artists and is in collaboration with Opus Ithaca. The first soloist, Noam Ginsparg, will be performing Paganini’s Moses Variations for Solo Cello and Strings. The second featured soloist, Maya Johnson, will be performing the third movement of Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor. In addition, Dr. Schatz-Harris will lead the third and fourth movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Elgar’s Nimrod from The Enigma Variations.The program will also feature Sibelius’ Finlandia and Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, both under the direction of assistant conductor, Aaron Burgess. The public is invited to attend a reception held directly after the concert. A recommended donation of $7 will be accepted at the door, and children are admitted free of charge.
