Medley on Linden coming to downtown Geneva
Sunday, August 27
Thirty restaurants, wineries and breweries will offer creative tastes of their best food and drink Sunday, August 27, from 4 to 7pm when the Smith Center for the Arts brings Medley on Linden back to downtown Geneva’s iconic Linden Street.
A twist on its long-time fundraising event Medley of Tastes, Medley on Linden celebrates the region’s food, beverages and music while supporting the Smith Opera House. The event moved to Linden in 2016.
Music will be provided by The Djangoners, who perform Gypsy Jazz in the tradition of Django Reinhardt and his famous band, “Hot Club of France.” Featuring Bobby Henrie on lead guitar, Eric Aceto on violin, Harry Aceto on “Manouche” rhythm guitar and Brian Williams on upright bass, the Rochester-based quartet shares a common love of Django’s music and performs it with the same enthusiasm and spirit as it was originally played in the 1930s.
Linden Street will be lined with pop-up tents and restricted to pedestrian traffic for the event. Participants will receive a souvenir glass and a compostable hors d’oeuvres plate at the entry at Seneca and Linden streets. Attendees can stroll the street at their leisure and taste the offerings of area chefs and beverage makers.
Tickets are $30 and available at the Smith Opera House Box Office, 82 Seneca Street in Geneva, 315-781-5483, or online at thesmith.org. They are also available at the event.
Medley on Linden is sponsored by the Syracuse law firm of Hancock Estabrook, LLP; Geneva’s Community Bank; Vance Metal; and Grateful Dental. All proceeds support the Smith Opera House and its mission to provide and sustain diverse arts programming for residents and visitors in the Finger Lakes.
