The forecast of clear skies and balmy temperatures is good news to organizers of the fourth annual Sampson Balloon Fest and Car Show. The event at Sampson State Park, Route 96A, Romulus will be held on Saturday(August 23).But the majestic hot air balloons will go up four times this weekend, weather permitting. The six balloons, the largest concentration of hot air balloons in the local Finger Lakes area this summer, are scheduled to go up at 6 p.m. Friday, 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday.Rides may be arranged by contacting the balloon pilots before liftoff. There will be lots to do at the balloon fest between liftoffs. Activities include an antique and classic car show, acrobatic kites,remote controlled planes, visiting the military museum, music, food, arts and crafts, and enjoying Sampson State Park. Admission is $7 per car. Gates open at 5:30 a.m.
