Three Pennsylvania men have been arrested and charged with stealing annhydrous ammonia fertilizer from a Cayuga County farm. The ammonia is used to make methamphetamine. The men are accused of having between five and seven gallons of the chemical in their car when they were stopped by Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputies. They face up to ten years in prison and fines of up to a quarter of a million dollars. There have been a number of ammonia thefts from Cayuga County farms. Pennsylvania authorities are working to break up meth labs in the state’s northern tier.
