Bus Co. Blames Car for Crash

The company that provides bus service for Auburn schools is blaming the driver of a car for Tuesday’s chain reaction crash in Syracuse that sent 51 students to area hospitals. Dave Kinley, operation manager for Laidlaw Education Services, tells the Auburn Citizen a silver car cut in front of the first bus in the group, forcing it to slow down quickly. Kinley says the company is awaiting the police report to see if the buses were following each other too closely. State police are investigating the crash, which took place as a group of students was travelling to the OnCenter for a performance of “To Kill A Mockingbird.”
