Illinois Remains #1- SU Drops to #8

Illinois remains the number one team in thisweek’s Associated Press college basketball poll. The Illini improved to 9-and-0 with wins over Chicago State, Georgetown and Oregon. That helped them earn 35 first-place votes in the balloting.Kansas and Georgia Tech remain second and third with identical 6-and-0 marks. Oklahoma State improved to 7-and-0 and moved up a spot to number four. North Carolina rounds out the top five. Wake Forest is sixth, followed by Duke, Syracuse, Kentucky and Pittsburgh.
