Seneca Falls To Cut Ribbon On Canal Improvements Today

The Director of the New York State Canal Corp. will be in Seneca Falls today as part of the Canal Connections tour. Carmella Mantello will meet with local and state officials at 11 AM for a ribbon cutting at the Canal Harbor in Seneca Falls to mark improvements to the Harbor’s south canal wall behind Ferrara Lumber. State Senator Michael Nozzolio and Seneca Falls Mayor Diana Smith will also attend. Officials will later take a canal tour, followed by a reception at the Museum of Waterways and Industry. The officials will then hold a meeting at one o’clock. Public input gathered during the tour of canal communities will be used to shape Governor George Pataki’s proposal to create a state canal system greenway.
