The Dean of Hobart College in Geneva is retiring after 27-years at the Liberal Arts College. Clarence Butler announced Monday he will step down following this school year. 66- year old Butler came to Hobart college in in 1979 and held several positions including acting dean , interim chaplain ,senior associate dean, associate professor to dean, and Dean of the College. Butler says his goals when he came to Geneva 27 years ago were to restore and maintain as many of Hobart’s traditions as possible , to elevate the academic reputation of the college, and to respect the dignity of everyone. Butler says he spend more time with his daughters and granddaughter.
