No one was serious injured Thursday when two Waterloo School buses collided on East River Road. Waterloo Village Police say 18-year old Steven Shirk of Martville in Cayuga County made a left turn directly in front of the first bus that was eastbound on River Road. The bus driver slammed on the brakes in order avoid hitting the car. Another School bus following behind was unable to stop and struck the first bus from behind. A total of 40 people were on the two buses. Both bus drivers were taken to Geneva General Hospital were they were treated and released. Ten students complained of head and neck pain and were treated by nursing staff at the LaFayette School. Shirk was issued tickets for failure to yield while making a left turn and reckless driving.
