Two Convicted Murders Up for Parole

Two high profile convicted murders have parole hearings this month and next. Eric Parsons – who set his Romulus apartment on fire and killed his wife and four young children in 2003 will get a parole hearing this week. Parson’s Batavia defense lawyer wants his murder and arson convictions overturned. At the very least Bridget Field assigned counsel for Parsons’ appeal, would like a new trial. A parole hearing for Eric Smith- the former Savona resident- convicted of killing 4-year old Derrick Robie in 1993- will be during the week of June 12th. Smith was just 13 years old when he killed Robbie. This will be his third parole hearing. In 2004 Smith told the parole board he would have probably killed again if he had not been arrested.
