Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports Deputies arrested Stephen N. Torrez, age 21, of 2543 Reed Road Waterloo, NY 13165 for Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree. The Contempt charge stems from an incident where Torrez violated a Order of Protection issued by the Town of Junius Justice Court protecting a Town of Junius woman and her child. Torrez was charged with Criminal Mischief for damaging a Seneca County Sheriff patrol vehicle while in custody. Torrez was also charged with displaying a forged inspection certificate on a vehicle he operated during the commission of the Criminal Contempt. Torrez was arraigned in the Town of Junius Court and remanded to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $2000 bail/$4000 insured bond. Torrez is to re appear before the Town of Junius Court on March 20th, 2008 at 7:30 pm to answer the charges. On March 5, 2008 Torrez was issued an appearance ticket for the Criminal Mischief charge and is to answer on March 20th also.
