Fall Gardening Workshop Offered

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben and Schuyler County will host a fall gardening workshop at Muddy Fingers Farm, 3859 Dugue Rd., Hector on Wednesday, October 15 2008 from 5-7 p.m.. This hands-on workshop will teach participants about garlic production from soil preparation to planting and even harvest, fall garden clean up and disease management, and season extenders. Participants will be taken on a guided tour of the farm by owners Liz Martin and Matthew Glenn with a discussion of their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) operation. Liz and Matthew use sustainable practices while growing a variety of vegetables. Cost to attend will be $5 to cover handouts and light refreshments.
