Two airlifted from Friday morning Fleming crash

Sheriff David Gould reports the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single car personal injury motor vehicle accident. A newspaper delivery person reported the accident to Cayuga County 911 early Friday morning at 1:17 am, having come upon the vehicle off the road. A 2002 Tan Honda Civic traveling west on Skillet Road in the Town of Fleming failed to negotiate a curve and left the south side of the roadway striking a culvert and overturning. The vehicle was operated by 28 year old Chad M Wilson of Union Springs and also occupied by 23 year old Danielle L Gilfus, also of Union Springs. Both were extricated from the vehicle by Fleming Fire Department and airlifted to University Hospital in Syracuse where they are listed in critical condition at this time.The Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation into the cause of the accident.Anyone with information, please contact Deputy Timothy Axton at 253-1132 or Detective Smith at 253-4869.
